ZOOMING IN

Q: Why do you play football?

A: I have anger issues and I [can] take it out on other players when I run the ball, and [I like that] it’s a team sport.”

Q: What have been your goals in football?

A: To get faster, stronger and be a better person.”

Q: What are the biggest obstacles that you had to overcome in football?

A: When you get hit, it doesn’t matter how hard you get hit, but how you can deliver the hit and keep moving forward.”

Q: What are the biggest obstacles that you had to overcome in Student Council?

A: Just dressing appropriate, dressing like a leader, acting like a leader and speaking for the people because I have to be the voice and be a role model to the student body.”

Q: How did you become involved with Student Council?

A:  I’m just pretty much a people person. I like talking to everybody, [and] I don’t judge. I don’t have a group I just usually talk to or a clique. I talk to everybody. I just like to represent people for the good and be there.”

Q: How do you deal with all the pressure between Stuco and football?

A: Sometimes I cry and break down at night. It gets hard but there’s always a good side to things. You can’t be sad and get ran over by it. You have get up and be strong and finish what you’ve already laid out for yourself.”

Q: What are your future goals in school and life in general?

A: “Being on the academic honors and being a good person, that’s all it is…just helping people out because it’s not all about me. It’s about giving back to the people and soon they’ll give back to you.”

Q: Who or what inspires you?

A: Well first I want to give a shoutout to God, and then my mom. She’s the only parent I have right now. I love her to death. She plays both roles, mother and father. She keeps me on my feet when I’m down, and when I’m struggling with football and Student Council. She’s pretty much there for me 100 percent of the time.”
