ZOOMING IN

Q: Who inspired you to play basketball?

A: “My uncle and Lebron James.”

Q: How long have you played basketball?

A: “I’ve been playing since I was four years old.”

Q: What motivates you before a game?

A: “I like to watch inspiration videos on YouTube of NBA players to get pumped up, and then after that I’m ready.”

Q: What’s the most important aspect about a game?

A: “Making sure everybody is having fun and making sure everyone uses team work…basically for everyone to get the chance to score the ball. It wouldn’t be fair to some people if their parents are at the game and they don’t show what they got, cause that’s what I do.”

Q: What’s does your future in basketball look like?

A: “Me going to the NBA, getting money, supporting my family and doing the things I like to do. Also, if I do make it to the NBA, I’ll invest in many things to keep the money coming in.”

Q: After basketball what do you hope for your future?

A: “I hope I’ll be successful in life, that I have a beautiful wife and kids, and just to have nice things and be successful to support my family.”

Q: What’s a quote that describes you?

A: “‘Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard.’ My coach always told me that ‘no matter how good you are, there’s always room for improvement,’ so that’s why I have no fear in basketball. I know if I work harder than the next person, I’ll be able to beat them.”

Q: What is one of your best skills in basketball?

A: “I would have to say shooting. I can shoot a full court shot in practice. Before I had broke my arm, I had shot two in a row. It was nice.”

Q:  What keeps you focused?

A: “I stay focused cause of my uncle. The reason why he stopped playing basketball was cause he tore his ACL. So that keeps me focused by trying to fulfill his dreams, my dreams and also my family’s.”
