This week’s Farmer Focus is on sophomore Madison Lopez, a soccer captain who is already looking towards her junior year and beyond.

Q: As a sophomore, how do you feel about high school?

A: “I really enjoy high school, there’s more freedom, your circle of friends get tighter, just able to do more things.”

Q: When you graduate in 2017, do you know what you want to do in life? For example, what college or what career you want to pursue in life?

A: “SMU or Baylor. Study political science and journalism, wanting to get into business and politics.”

Q: How do you feel about not having block lunch like to other two campuses?

A: “I’ve gotten used to it. We have Farmer Time in home room. We get more work done.”

Q: What are some interesting things Harmon could do to make students more excited to come to school?

A: “We have Thinkspot and if they coordinate more with those and have more relaxing areas around the school, maybe include a cafe like the main campus.”

Q:What excites you about being a junior?

A: “I think being with the kids from Killough like meeting up and having more of my friends in one place.”

Q: As captain, in your honest opinion, how do you feel soccer is going?

A: “The soccer program at LHS is one of the best programs at this school, because we have such an incredible parent support, and we [are] able to build friendships throughout high school.”

Q: How do you feel after you win?

A: “I feel a sense of accomplishment with the people I love playing the game I love.”

Q: What are you normal habits before a big game?

A: “I eat a small healthy snack. I listen to game music. It pumps me up before the game. We pray before the game; it normally calms my nerves. I also like to visualize my passes.”
