With elections coming up this week, we decided to ask some of the outgoing senior officers what they would want the students who fill their shoes next year to know.

Make sure you are fully dedicated and ready to take on a huge role. I would also say definitely keep track of your planner and all the dates that you have coming up because you oversee everything that everyone else does. Just be as organized as you can with everything that comes your way.

For student body vice president, I would say keep track of all your responsibilities, because it’ll catch up to you if you don’t write it down and don’t keep track of the events that you have to work or the jobs you’re given to do. Make sure you keep your priorities straight. Get ready to get your hands dirty because you do a lot of crafts and making signs. And most importantly just have fun with it because you’re only a senior once, and it’ll be the best year of your life so get ready for that.

The advice I’d give for anyone running for treasurer is you just have to have simple guidelines. You have to be able to know Excel and word processing. Must be very organized and you can’t be afraid to be stern, because you’re the person who’s in charge of all demerits and points. The best advice to do is keep everything professional. You can’t just pick and choose friends. Just always stay on top of things.

First, my job is to where you work with all the officers, like help the top four because you are already up there with them. All five have really big responsibilities, but when you’re a historian you have to know how to manage your time wisely because you need to change all the TV’s every week, take down the flash drives every week, publicize. Basically a lot of time management, responsibility, being able to work devices especially technology.

Running for secretary this year again is really competitive so just campaign a lot, be nice to people, go out into different clubs because you’re a representative of the entire student body, which means not just Student Council, just like the entire school as a whole. Get to know everybody because that’s why we got elected; we got our name out there, got to know everyone, and just be nice. I mean, the top five officers, we all have a good work ethic which is why we get along, because we don’t have to worry about anything like that.
