ZOOMING IN

Q: What do you do after work/in your spare time?

A: “After work I like to sit since I have eight hours on my feet, but on the weekends I love to go garage sailing and [have] some down time…[go to] antique car shows.”

Q: What is the best thing about working at LHS?

A: “The kids.”

Q: What challenges do you have with working at a high school?

A: “The time constraint because everything in everybody’s day in a normal rule is measured by the hour. I wish there was more time to prepare the meals.”

Q: How is working at Main different than any other schools you have worked at?

A: “I have worked in elementary, middle school and high school. It’s different in elementary because they are so new and they seem lost and you give them directions. Here, high school is just fun because you relate and you can joke.”

Q: What do you enjoy about your work?

A: “The kids. They are a lot of fun to relate to.”

Q: Do you have any children in LISD? Where do they go to school?

A: “My son graduated in 2003 from here at the old school before this one was built. My twin girls graduated from here in 2013. My son got married and he is working at Import Export, and my girls are going to college at UNT.”

Q: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?

A: “If I’m able, still doing this, so I can connect [and] be busy. I can’t see myself retiring because I think when you retire and you slow down, my personal opinion is you die unless you have something to stay busy.”
