While “Doctor Strange” may not be as well known of a hero as Captain America when it comes to the Marvel comic books, he definitely made his mark on the Marvel fanbase when the first movie featuring the character came out last Friday.

The movie follows an influenced doctor who was in a car accident and subsequently loses the feeling in his hands. He tries to regain the nerves in them in order to continue working his profession; however, he quickly learns medicine can not help him. As he tries to find other ways to regain the feeling of his hands without them being shaky, he is slowly drawn into the world of mystic arts.

He discovers another way to heal is by using a magical force.

The Ancient One, a millennia-old sorcerer who protected the Earth’s dimension, refuses to help him because of how arrogant he is. She finally changed her mind when Mordo, an old apprentice of hers, started using dark magic for his own good.

So he starts practicing with the Ancient One. He is thrown into different adventures, including trying to save the citizens of New York from a dark force.

Stan Lee made a special appearance in the movie leaving fans delighted. The movie doesn’t actually describe his childhood, like Spider-Man and Captain America do.

The movie left fans pleased on how it came together and how the actors portrayed the characters. They resembled the comic book well and got his background story right when it followed him after med school.

Benedict Cumberbatch plays the main character, Stephen Strange, and does a fantastic job on delivering the role of the Marvel superhero.

Director Scott Derrickson did a phenomenal job for his first Marvel project. After working on horror movies like “Sinister” and “The Exorcism of Emily Rose,” this movie was a happier and more adventurous addition to his portfolio.

The special effects made the movie come together more. It included fighting and humor at the same time which made the audience enjoy it more.

It made 85 million from opening weekend, making it the best selling movie out right now in theaters.

“Doctor Strange” received a rating of 8/10 stars on IMDb, and it is definitely a movie well spent and won’t disappoint.
