The famous YouTube comedian sensation Miranda Sings now has a Netflix show called “Hater’s Back Off!” that will make you laugh, cry and feel all emotions humanly possible. It’s the origin story of Miranda Sings showing how she became who she is today.

Colleen Ballinger has been dressing up as her character Miranda Sings for almost 10 years now and has gained millions of followers on YouTube. It’s no surprise the show did well and is planned for a season two.

If you’ve been a fan of Sings’ YouTube videos from the beginning then you know how many surprises were revealed when viewing the Netflix show including meeting Sings’ weird uncle, Uncle Jim, and apparently her sister, Emily. Mirfandas (Sings’ fans) have never met her crazy uncle and didn’t even know she had a sister to begin with which is why the reveal was so shocking. The moment you meet her family you finally understand why Sings is the way she is. From Sings’ mom pretending to have illnesses she doesn’t really have to her uncle being extremely uncomfortable, it’s a surprise she didn’t turn out worse.

The first season is only eight episodes but they will make you laugh until your stomach hurts and then cry until your eyes are dry. Sings is a self-absorbed, confident, oblivious 18-year-old girl who thinks she’s better than everyone else with her “amazing talents,” especially her singing. Each episode takes you along Uncle Jim’s five steps to fame that Sings follows in her quest to become internet famous. Only things don’t work out the way she might have hoped.

Actress Angela Kinsey from the hilarious show “The Office” stars as Sings’ mom, Bethany, who the audience quickly discovers is a little weird but ends up feeling bad for her. Being the mother of Sings, you would go crazy too. Just imagine being yelled at 24/7 and getting no appreciation for all that you do. Despite Bethany’s minor flaws, she deserves a round of applause.

In three words, the show can be described as entertaining, uncomfortable (in a good way) and emotional. (Especially episode eight.) While “Haters Back Off!” might not make any sense if you are watching it for the first time without knowing who Sings is, if you accept the show for what it is, it’s hilarious.

Even if you think you will not enjoy “Haters Back Off!,” it’s at least worth watching the first episode. You can continue keeping up with Sings on YouTube or you can just wait for season two to come out, but whatever you do just know that Sings is “better than you. So no offense…” Take a step into Sings’ crazy fun world and you might find you don’t want to leave.
