Swimming at a local gym and staying healthy, and potentially becoming a grandmother are on Latin teacher Susan Stockslager’s agenda after this school year ends. After her 21 years at LHS and 42 years teaching total, she said she will miss teaching and seeing students grow the most.
“It’s just very thrilling to see that spark of understanding in a student’s eye.”

Math teacher Jon Abbott plans on substituting and coming back to visit quite often. Abbott said he’ll probably be jealous with what the teachers and students get to utilize in the future.
“Just in between classes, before and after school, talking with people, it’s the people interaction that I’ll remember for a long, long time, and will miss too.”

Special Ed and Inclusion department head Ann Thiede will carry on her skill as a lifelong learner after her 22 years at LHS. She said her students are like sponges, and future teachers should find the same excitement in being able to help them learn.
“It’s the delight of learning that I enjoy most. I love being able to ask ‘How can I…?’”
