Food, fun, and frivolous fright

Food, fun, and frivolous fright

This year’s Fall Carnival will take place on Tuesday, October 30, 2012 in the cafeteria and practice gyms. The event will last from 6-8:30 PM and you must enter through cafeteria doors to attend. Don’t forget to stop by FFA’s petting zoo just outside the doors before you walk in. Everyone is welcome and admission is free; children and adults alike are encouraged to come celebrate this upcoming holiday.

There will be booths with games that you can participate in for the small cost of a few tickets, which you can buy at the ticket booth for $0.50 each. Every booth is owned by a certain club. The clubs have to reserve the booths ahead of time to have the rights to use them. As an example, you can hand over 8 tickets, which in total is $4.00, and walk through the haunted house. At the end of the night, all booths collect their tickets and trade them in for cash, which then goes to the club’s funds. Unfortunately, there is little profit due to the cost to run the booths.

At concessions, the volleyball team’s place for the night, is available at the school store, and the variety of foods include but do not limit to: pizza, nachos, hot dogs, popcorn, and sodas.

The main goal for this event is to bring the community together and allow them to enjoy themselves.

“When the students come in with their parents and you see the students for all ages look at high school like they’re wonderful,” said Allison Stamey, student council and senior adviser for Lewisville High School who is currently working on the carnival. “It’s just a good night for all. A good, clean night of fun.”

Food, games, costumes…oh my!  Don’t miss out on your chance to get to know the community before the haunting holiday.
