The 30th annual Keep Lewisville Beautiful Spring Clean Up will be held on Saturday, April 2 from 8 a.m. to noon at Harmon.

“Keep Lewisville Beautiful is an organization where we all strive to make sure Lewisville stays clean, organized and overall beautiful,” StuCo parliamentarian Austin Warren said. “We just want to make sure that our environment stays rid of pollution.”

This event is open to anyone who wishes to volunteer, and registration is at the door. Some of the organizations that participate include Interact, National Honor Society and Circle of Friends, and some of the feeder schools come to help out as well.

“We come together to clean various areas of Lewisville,” Hannah Campbell said. “Competitions are held to those who can pick up the most trash and litter. We clean up the trash that covers creeks, lakes, roads, parks, and give back to the community that provides so much for us.”

Some seniors have participated every year and have enjoyed it.

“This event means a lot to us,” Warren said. “It lets us know that people actually do care and can get out and make our environment better, have a fun time doing it and also learn a thing or two.”
