The Farmerettes and Diamonds are hosting a daddy daughter themed winter wonderland dance this Saturday from 6:30 to 9 p.m. in the cafeteria.

“We came up with the idea along with our booster club in an effort to create a fundraising opportunity for the Farmerettes and Diamonds that involves the Lewisville community,” Farmerette coach Shannon Dunham said.

As a replacement from the usual candle and candy selling, this dance will include treats, refreshments and goody bags.

“It’s mainly for kids, but if older people want to come, that would be cool too,” senior Farmerette lieutenant Dani Longoria said. “It’s basically like a typical dance and our DJ is [Farmerette] Saleema Bah, [who is] really good.”

The Farmerettes and Diamonds will be decorating before the dance on Saturday, executing the event and cleaning up afterward.

Tickets cost $35 per couple and $10 each for each additional daughter.

“There are also door registrations for people who haven’t registered yet but still want to go to the dance, so walk-ups are welcome,” Longoria said.

For those wanting to get into the holiday spirit and spend some quality time with their loved ones, this dance is a chance to do that while simultaneously supporting the Farmerettes and Diamonds.

“I really hope there will be a great turnout because we’re going to make this dance really fun and wintery, plus it’ll be a festive way to hang out with your dad,” Farmerette Carina Guerrero said.
