This is my NFL mock draft for the 2018 season. This is written as if there will be no trades occurring and the order is of 4/25. These are the 16 worst teams based on record and strength of schedule.

Pick 1

Cleveland Browns: Josh Allen, QB Wyoming

Cleveland has not found a franchise quarterback yet but with a stacked quarterback class I feel like it’s time to invest in one. Paring pro bowler Jarvis Landry with Josh Gordon and Corey Coleman will help develop Allen by giving him a few offensive weapons for the future. The Browns also received Tyrod Taylor a mediocre veteran quarterback who has playoff experience. Allen would be a perfect fit as he is tall, has a big arm and doesn’t have to start right away which is huge for the Browns.

Pick 2

New York Giants: Sam Darnold, QB USC

Darnold is the strongest quarterback available in my opinion because he has a strong arm and moves throughout the pocket while having great vision. If the Browns take Allen it’s a no brainer with an aging Eli Manning.

Pick 3

New York Jets: Josh Rosen, QB UCLA

The Jets are on the rise and with Rosen this could put them on the top; he is a quarterback with high upside and is the safest pick at three.

Pick 4

Cleveland Browns: Bradley Chubb, Edge NC State

Cleveland isn’t looking for much as the team already has its young quarterback. Because no corner is a top five talent, I feel like they will look at a safe top pick and pairing him up with Myles Garrett will be frightening.

Pick 5

Denver Broncos: Quenton Nelson, OG Notre Dame

With Case Keenum I feel like owner John Elway wants to win so let’s protect Keenum. If Keenum gets time in the pocket he will be able to throw to his offensive weapons and hopefully win more games. Nelson is really good at blocking during passes and I feel like this could help the Broncos in a big way.

Pick 6

Indianapolis Colts: Tremaine Edmunds, LB Virginia Tech

The Colts have a possibility of running this draft. After receiving picks from the New York Jets they could trade down and get more picks and receive a more proven player, but if that doesn’t happen I see the Colts picking up a linebacker which have been somewhat of a concern for them.

Pick 7

Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Saquon Barkley, RB Penn State

After two unproductive seasons with Doug Martin they let him go to Oakland so now without a running back it’s a key priority. Barkley is the best player in this draft and can transform the young Buccaneers squad.

Pick 8

Chicago Bears: Denzel Ward, CB Ohio State

The Bears are in a tough spot; they desperately need a wideout but with this pick it is a reach to get one. Another big concern are the defensive backs so I see them picking the best corner in the draft.

Pick 9

San Francisco 49ers: Minkah Fitzpatrick, S Alabama

The 49ers have their starting quarterback in Jimmy Garoppolo who is undefeated so far in San Francisco. They have acquired Richard Sherman from free agency so I see them going with a young safety to pair him with Sherman.

Pick 10

Oakland Raiders: Roquan Smith, LB Georgia

A big need for the Raiders is inside linebacker. Roquan is the best linebacker and perfectly fits in their system. The Raiders should pick Smith over Denzel Ward even if he slips.

Pick 11

Miami Dolphins: Baker Mayfield, QB Oklahoma

Starting quarterback Ryan Tannehill isn’t cutting it and is injury prone. I see the Dolphins looking for a replacement and taking the risk on the smaller cocky quarterback from Norman.

Pick 12

Buffalo Bills: Marcus Davenport, DE UTSA

With the departure of quarterback Tyrod Taylor the Bills may look at a quarterback but with the talent of quarterbacks in this draft I see the Bills waiting and picking up someone like Mason Rudolph later in the draft. So, the Bills take Davenport who is a nice edge rusher and can start instantly.

Pick 13

Washington Redskins: Vita Vea, DT Washington

The Redskins desperately need an interior rusher and Vea is a perfect fit because he’s an explosive player who can get at the quarterback.

Pick 14

Green Bay Packers: Josh Jackson, CB Iowa

A guy who played wide receiver first and then moved to defensive back has great ball skills. He’s an extremely smart player for a secondary with no real No. 1 corner.

Pick 15

Arizona Cardinals: Lamar Jackson, QB Louisville

Once a Cardinal always a Cardinal. With Sam Bradford at quarterback Jackson doesn’t have to start right away and can become a better passer in the pocket to elevate his game more.

Pick 16

Baltimore Ravens: Calvin Ridley, WR Alabama

The Baltimore Ravens have two quarterbacks who I think could start: Robert Griffin and Joe Flacco. However, Flacco has been struggling and Griffin is coming to a new offense. I think Ridley can provide this offense a pure route runner who can be another weapon on a weak offense.
