Love Your Style: Junior Bryan Arellano

Active student council member reveals passion as sneakerhead

Love Your Style is a new segment showcasing our fellow students’ style. For our first story we chose junior Bryan Arellano whose style is revolved around his shoes.

Q: What fashion advice would give to the student body?

A: Wear whatever you like. Whatever expresses you.

Q: How would you describe your look?

A: I describe my style as me. Simple and fresh.

Q: Who is your fashion inspiration/icon?

AKanye West. It all started with his music. He is my favorite artist. He’s just different. He brings a different style to the game and he doesn’t care what people think about him.

Q: What’s your favorite outfit?

A: To be honest it had to be basketball shorts, some long socks, a nice pair of shoes, and just a simple shirt. Just because it’s comfy.

Q:Favorite brand or designer?

A: Nike is my favorite brand because that’s where the shoe game started. I remember my first pair of White Forces, and that’s where it all started.

Q:What are your favorite colors to wear?

A: Well my favorite color is red, and I have a lot of red shoes. But I’m also into all different types of colors.

Q:What is something no one should wear?

A: No one should wear Crocs. Crocs are horrible, they are an ugly shoe. But I mean if you like crocs wear them, go ahead. Who makes a shoe with holes in them?

Q:What is your go-to store?

A: House of Hoops. It’s where all the quick strikes release; quick strike would be another word for a limited shoe. House of Hoops has the shoes other spots don’t have, even though it’s under Foot Locker.

Q:How many shoes do you have?

A: 20.

Q:What’s the most you have spent on shoes?

A: $390.

Q: Why did you spend that much money on one pair of shoes?

A: It was a shoe I wanted for a while, and I had the money, so why not? Of course I had to think about it for a while. I thought twice about it, but I figured I can make more money off the shoe. So I’ll wear it a couple of times, then resell it later on if I want to for a little higher price. I wouldn’t be losing any money, I’ll actually be making more money than I bought them for. $390 was a good price for those shoes.

Q: First pair of Jordans?

A: Air Jordan White Cement 3’s back in 2011.

Q:How do you feel when you put a brand new pair of shoes on?

A: I feel like I can do anything. I feel good about myself, invincible.

Q:Pair of shoes everyone should have in their closet

A: A pair of free runs or Fly Nits.

Q: If you could have any shoe in the world, what would it be?

A: If I could pick one shoe, it would have to be Miami Night Lebron 8’s. They came out a couple years back. They’re a colorful shoe and they’re really limited. If I could get my hands on a pair I would, but their prices are crazy. They go for about $2,000 and I couldn’t spend that much money on shoes. It’s either those or the Levi 1’s Pack.
